Topic: City Centre to Port Mann Bridge Neighbourhood Bicycle Route
As part of a broader investment in cycling across Surrey, the City is planning to implement a new “Neighbourhood Bike Route” that will provide a safe, convenient, and direct connection between Surrey City Centre and the new Port Mann Bridge. The route will guide cyclists along local roads where there are lower traffic volumes and speeds.
The planned route consists of two elements:
· Low key and small scale improvements along the route including signage and pavement markings plus a number of pathway improvements.
· A new pedestrian and cycling bridge across Bon Accord Creek along 109 Avenue west of 144 Street.
A public open house showing the proposed route and new bridge will be taking place at Ellendale Elementary School at 14525 110A Avenue on Monday, December 2, 2013 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
