Emergency Preparedness in Surrey
« on: May 04, 2010, 12:26:14 PM »
Our NEPP's session is officially booked:
May 11, 2010 7:30PM RCMP District One offices (107A & King George Blvd.)
This presentation follows on the heels of the city's NEPP's Week (Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program).
We are doing this with the Whalley Community Association because we have similar issues.
We are all aware of the risks of earthquakes, major storms, flooding etc., but portions of the Whalley Community and all of Blivar Heights sit adjacent to several major transportation corridors, not the least of which is the CN Thorton Yard.  We must assume that hazardous goods transit through our community on a weekly if not daily basis.
We must be prepared for an accident!
Hope to see as many as possible come out to the May 11 emergency preparedness session.
Please talk it up with friends and neighbours.
