JUNE 11th MEETING CANCELLED!

At the March 5, 2013 Community Workshop, a number of attendees expressed concern regarding the negative impacts that pile driving would have on their homes. In order to provide the required background and facts related to the extent of the pile driving and the impacts, MV had to drill test holes on the 114 Avenue alignment and analyze the data collected. This necessary information would not be available for the June 11, 2013 public meeting. Therefore, in order to have a more fact-based discussion, it was decided to delay the meeting until the fall 2013. This will also provide the City of Surrey an opportunity to meet with the Bolivar Heights Community Association (BHCA) and Surrey Slo-Pitch to address some of the issues.

What other issues are affecting the schedule for planning this project?
Recently, provincial staff asked Metro Vancouver to delay the sewer construction so that they could disassemble the Port Mann Bridge. The sewer route on 115A/116A Avenue is the trucking haul route for the large components of the bridge. As a result, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has asked that MV delay work until 2014.
